It is that time again for a fun writing prompt. The only problem is: I was suppose to do this yesterday!
Five Minute Friday, hello isn't the titled enough of a reminder??? Oh well I figured who would really care if I was one day late? I mean really this is all for fun and just a way to get our brains in the writing arena sooo here is my five minute Friday ...on a Saturday; get over it and enjoy.
-Joy-
Do we have to write about joy? For some reason all that keeps coming to mind is the song "Joy to the World". Which I am guessing will now be stuck in my head the rest of the evening. Which I will probably end up singing in the shower in the morning and my hubby will think I am crazy!!!!
Ha! Now I am reminded of how "oh joy" was said a lot in high school. A sarcastic remark after we were told things like "pop quiz" day.... Oh joy. She is going, too..... Oh joy. Add in an eye roll and you can sum up my four years in high school.
Okay moving on. On a more serious note....
Joy is a simple three letter word. How is it that such a small word is needed just as much as a oxygen is? I mean really we need oxygen to live.... Don't we need joy just as much? Without joy in our heart, or in our life.... How long would we live?
Think about it. What brings you joy? Have you only had one joyous event your whole life? Or have you had many? Do you look for joy every single day? Or do you provide joy for others which in return brings you joy? Are you joyful? Is it just circumstances that make you a joy to be around or do you just have joy?
Joy can't just be a holiday feeling. Joy shouldn't be just because you got married or had a baby or got a new car. Don't get me wrong these things are happy awesome moments but shouldn't joy be more than that?
Joy is peace. Trust. Faith. Love. Hope.
Joy doesn't mean never crying or feeling sad. Joy just always rises to conquer. Joy has victory because it is rejoicing over the circumstances. Joy is rejoicing to the one who is in the details of the good or bad circumstances.
Joy is given by God. Joy is something that is deep down and no matter what is going on you just feel because you know He is on your side. Your team.
Stop.....
Soo there it is a day late but I am glad I did!
