I am currently awaiting the arrival of the fall season. The cooler weather, apple cider, pumpkins and the ever so happy fashion of BOOTS!
I have decorated the fireplace mantel for the fall and have created a pile of "I am thankful" place cards that my family can fill out between now and thanksgiving. At thanksgiving, we will read them a loud and truly give thanks while we eat our turkey...side note:. I love me some turkey!
Filling out these cards is a simple way to give thanks and make thanksgiving not about just one day but cultivate a heart of gratitude for weeks before.
I have truly a lot to be thankful for but one in particular that has been on my heart and is already down on a card is second chances. I am so thankful for second chances. My life story is filled with many second chances. Many of them I didn't deserve.
I am in awe of all the second chances God has given me. Here are a few:
Without second chances my son would not be here today.
Without second chances my daughter would not be here today.
Without second chances my husband and I would not be married.
Without second chances a few really great friendships would not have had happened.
Without second chances I would not be sober.
Without second chances I would not be in Texas.
Without second chances I would still be lost.
Without second chances I would still be punishing myself from an abortion.
Without second chances I would not be here today.
Without second chances I would not be totally in love with God.
It is never too late for second chances.
He has already forgiven you and keeps no record of wrong.
He already loves you just the way you are.
He already has victory over every struggle in your life.
It is never too late for second chances.
Don't believe the lie that it is too late. The same second chance is there for you, too.
